In one sentence: Peepel now shows you up front what a collective closure costs your people, keeps a new hire locked until the social secretariat has processed it, puts multiple contract periods on one timeline and lets the HR chat schedule and carry out tasks.
You know the moment: you click save and hope you know what happens next. In September we made that moment smaller. For collective leave, a new hire and employees with multiple contracts, Peepel first shows what changes. And where it can, Peepel does the work itself. You approve where it's needed. Less double-checking, fewer errors towards the social secretariat, and more work that Peepel does for you.
In short
- Collective closure: see up front what it costs your people and read afterwards what happened per person.
- Company days: employees can no longer remove a day the company booked for them.
- Multiple contracts: one timeline per employee.
- New hire: locked until the social secretariat has processed it.
- HR chat: say "every Monday at 9am" and Peepel schedules it.
- Your own tools: your AI assistant drafts and sends surveys, and your own system books leave.
- Integrations: connections with more large social secretariats are in the works.
- Plus 8 smaller improvements.
Close the office between Christmas and New Year, and know right away what it costs
A collective closure sounds simple, until a day that isn't an official public holiday quietly comes off someone's balance. Now Peepel splits official public holidays and collective leave into two tabs, and you choose which balance a company day is deducted from.
Before you save you see a warning such as "3 of 14 people don't have enough left". The warning doesn't block anything, because the office is closed anyway. After saving you get a report per person: who got the day, who got nothing and who was already absent. If someone had booked leave or a reduced-hours day (ADV) on that day, the day goes back to their balance and they get an email about it. Your employees see in self-service which days apply to everyone.
A company day stays a company day. An employee can no longer take such a day off their calendar to book something else over it. The day stays visible, with the reason. As HR you can still remove it for whoever has to work during the closure. Days already sent to payroll are blocked by Peepel from being deleted or moved.
One view of all of an employee's contracts
Someone comes back, changes role or gets a permanent contract after a temporary one. Then they have several periods in your records. On the pay and employment terms page you now choose which period you look at and navigate through a timeline. Past periods are read-only, so you don't change anything by accident. You create a new contract on an existing person.
Change a new hire only once the social secretariat is done
If you hired someone and immediately changed something in their file before the social secretariat had processed the hire, that change risked staying in Peepel only. Now Peepel locks the new employee until the secretariat is done. You see that the file is being processed, and fields managed by the secretariat can't be changed. Adding a second contract while the first hire is in progress is blocked too, so no second hire is reported.
Tell the HR chat what needs to happen every week
"Send this every Monday" is a job you'd rather not remember yourself. The HR chat can now show, create and edit routines, at a fixed time ("every Monday at 9am") or on an event ("when someone is hired"). Creating and editing is for admins, and Peepel asks for your confirmation first. That's Peepel doing the work while you oversee it.
Let your own tools work with Peepel
Through the Peepel MCP connection, your AI assistant can draft a survey, send it and fetch the results. Actions that change something are for admins, and only available if your organisation has the survey module. Have your own system? It can use the public API to list leave types, read approved absences and create new absences. If a date already has a booking, Peepel rejects the whole request instead of overwriting anything.
More social secretariats on the way
Today Peepel connects with social secretariats on Sodeco, such as Attentia and Besox. We're working hard on connections with other large social secretariats. We'll share more about that soon.
